Shoreline Frontrunners of Long Beach is a gay and lesbian oriented running and walking club. Just one of the many International Front Runners clubs established throughout the world, Shoreline Frontrunners formed in 1984 as a 'sister' club to the L.A. Frontrunners club to better serve the running/walking community in the Long Beach/South Bay/Orange County areas.
Come out and join us for our weekly fun runs/walks. We also host and participate in numerous social and athletic events during the year.
Although the majority of our members are male, we are not exclusively male, gay, white, fast, or even runners. Membership is open to all persons without regard to ability, ethnicity, gender, status, or sexual orientation. Annual dues are $20 for individuals and $35 for a household membership (two people living at same address) which are due in January of each year. New memberships are prorated on a quarterly basis. Although no one is required to be a paid member to join us for our runs/walks, we ask for dues to offset costs for distributing our newsletter and other club mailings, our membership and insurance with the RRCA, post office box fees, etc. Our members also get reduced rates to club functions such as our progressive dinner and our banquet. We also print a membership roster that is distributed to club members only. To apply , go to our secure online application page.
Shoreline
Frontrunners is club 1156 with the Road
Runners Club of America and is IRS 501(c)(3) tax-exempt
under the RRCA's group exemption. We have elected officers
and we hold monthly meetings open to the membership and
other interested parties where we plan upcoming activities
and discuss issues relevant to the club and its purposes.
These meetings are generally held on the third Thursday
of the month at a member's home.
Information on the location can be obtained from any
one of our officers or
at our weekly runs. Meeting notices are also sent to
members by email.
